The Sadar police has arrested a self-proclaimed journalist of YouTube channel for abusing a female officer of Water Works Department and trying to extort money from her. The accused has been identified as Munna Patel, a resident of Jaffar Nagar and case has been registered against him.

Patel describes himself as a YouTube journalist and keeps roaming as a journalist in the government office at Civil Lines.

Patel came to the victim’s office at around 3.45 pm on Tuesday and started abusing her while speaking to the the female officer, he said that “March is over, you have not given any money”. Being alone in the room, the woman officer went to the next room, informing him that she is speaking to her superior, but Patel barged inside and shouted that “I am a journalist, you will have to talk to me”. When the woman officer called her boss, Patel again abused her.

The woman officer got scared due to this sudden confrontation. Hearing her noise, other colleagues reached the room and told Patel to leave from there. Patel started abusing them as well. After which an engineer showed him the way out. The woman officer went to Sadar police station and lodged a complaint on Wednesday.

The Sadar police has registered a case under extortion, molestation, intimidation, assault, commotion in office and under the Epidemic Act. It is said that Patel has done this before with other lady officers as well as in other government offices, as he use to threaten them of bringing mob and creating ruckus in the office.
