The Sambhal district administration in a unique initiative, has decided to cover as many as ten mosques with tarpaulin sheets during Holi celebrations to avoid any potential offense. ASP Sambhal, Shreesh Chandra, explained that these sites, which fall along the traditional route of Holi processions, would be covered to ensure that no sentiments are hurt. He further mentioned that discussions and agreements had been made between the two sides in this regard.

Sambhal SDM, Dr. Vandna Mishra, also informed ANI that 1,015 people had been detained under Sections 126 and 135 of the Indian Penal Code. Additionally, Lekhpals have been deployed at various mosques in the district. The area has been divided into sectors, and authorities have assured that they are fully prepared to ensure a peaceful Holi.

Ahead of the festival, Uttar Pradesh Police have issued a set of guidelines aimed at promoting safe and harmonious celebrations. The police emphasized that no new traditions should be introduced during the festivities and that all events must be celebrated traditionally. Their objective is to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the festival while keeping anti-social elements in check.

The UP Police have also stated that after reviewing past incidents during Holi, they will take effective preventive measures to avoid any disturbances. The festival, celebrated with great enthusiasm in the state, often sees attempts by anti-social elements to disrupt the peace, prompting these precautionary steps by the authorities.
