Modi Govt 9 Years : Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 9 welfare schemes, which changed the social and economic situation of the country

Modi government at the center has completed 9 years. During this period, due to the central government's policies, the country saw a lot of changes. Today we are going to tell you about 9 schemes of Modi government, which directly affected common citizens.

Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana - Prime Minister's Public Finance Scheme) is a financial inclusion program of the Government of India open to Indian citizens (minors of age 10 and older can also open an account with a guardian to manage it), that aims to expand affordable access to financial services such as bank accounts, remittances, credit, insurance and pensions. This financial inclusion campaign was launched by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 28 August 2014.He had announced this scheme on his first Independence Day speech on 15 August 2014.

Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)- PMJJBY is also an important scheme of Central Govt. It was launched by Prime Minister Modi on 9 May 2015 in Kolkata, West Bengal. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana is available to people between 18 and 50 years of age with bank accounts. It has an annual premium of ₹436 (US$5.50). The GST is exempted on Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. The amount will be automatically debited from the account on or before 31 May every year. Period for which insurance covered is 12 months i.e, from 1 June till 31 May. Those who register for auto debit facility will have auto renewal up to 55 years. However, a person over age 50 cannot register to this scheme. There is no need for a person to submit health report or certificate while joining to this scheme. In case of death due to any cause, the payment to the nominee will be ₹2 lakh (US$2,500). In order to avail of the benefits offered by the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana policy, it is mandatory to link your Aadhaar Card to the participatory bank account.This scheme will be linked also to the bank accounts opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana scheme. Most of these account had zero balance initially. The Government aims to reduce the number of such zero balance accounts by using this and related schemes.

Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana is available to people (Indian Resident or NRI) between 18 and 70 years of age with bank accounts. It has an annual premium of ₹20 (25¢ US). Goods and Services Tax (GST) is exempted on Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. The amount is automatically debited from the account. This insurance scheme can have one year cover from 1 June to 31 May and is offered through banks. It is administered through public sector general insurance companies. In case of death or full disability, the payment to the nominee will be Rs. 200,000 and in case of partial permanent disability Rs. 100,000. Full disability has been defined as loss of use in both eyes, hands, or feet. Partial Permanent disability has been defined as loss of use in one eye, hand, or foot.[4][5] Further, death due to suicide, alcohol, drug abuse, etc., are not covered. A person joined under this scheme is eligible for a claim only after 45 days of joining the scheme.This scheme is linked to the bank accounts opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana scheme. Atal Pension Yojana (APY)- Central Government has launched Atal Pension Yojana to provide pension to the people of unorganized sector. The scheme is administered by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). This scheme only applies to people between 18 and 40 years of age

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN)- Central Government provides 100 percent funding for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Under this scheme, the government pays Rs 6000 to farmers every year in three installments of Rs 2000 each. This scheme was launched by the central government in 2019.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PM Ujjwala Yojana)- Central Government launched Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in 2016 with the aim of making LPG cylinders available in every corner of the country. Under this scheme, LPG cylinders and gas cans will be provided to BPL families in the country

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana - Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is a part of Central Government's 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign. Accounts can be opened for girls up to 10 years of age under this scheme. The scheme encourages parents to build a fund for the future education of their female child.The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22 January 2015 as a part of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign. The scheme currently provides an interest rate of 8.0%(For Apr-June 2023 quarter) and tax benefits. The account can be opened at any India Post office or branch of authorised commercial banks.The Sukanya Samriddhi Account Rules, 2016 was rescinded on 12 December 2019 and the new Sukanya Samriddhi Account Scheme, 2019 was introduced.A minimum of ₹250 must be deposited in the account initially. Thereafter, any amount in multiples of Rs 100 can be deposited. However, the maximum deposit limit is ₹150,000. If the minimum deposit of ₹250, (initially which was 1000) is not made in a year, a fine of ₹50 will be put on.

Mahila Samman Savings Certificate (MSSC)- The Mahila Samman Savings Certificate (MSSC) was announced in Budget 2023. This scheme has been specially launched keeping women at the center. A maximum of two lakh rupees per year can be deposited in this for two years.

Ayushman Bharat Yojana- Ayushman Bharat Yojana or Pradhan Mantri Jan-Arogya Yojana has been launched by the central government with the aim of providing better treatment to people from weaker sections. Annual health cover of Rs 5 lakh was provided to the beneficiaries of this scheme.
