West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sabyasachi Dutta was heckled by Trinamool Congress (TMC) activists, here on Monday, when he had gone to see an injured party worker.

Dutta was manhandled in the Lake Town police station area and his vehicle was ransacked. Five BJP workers and three TMC activists received injuries, sources said.

"I had gone to see a party worker when TMC supporters led by Nitai Dutta and Krishnapada Dutta attacked me. I have lodged a complaint with the police," said Dutta, a former TMC legislator from Rajarhat New Town constituency.

Dutta said Nitai was an associate of Fire and Emergency Services Minister Suhit Bose.
