Lokmat News NetworkAurangabad, Oct 4:The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) health section has deployed three teams led by expert doctors and also stationed three ambulances round the clock for the last nine days of the Navrati festival at Karnapura.Tens of thousands of devotees from different parts of the city throng Karnapura to payobeisance during Navratri Mahotsav. Many a time, the devotees complained of feeling uneasiness, giddiness, restlessness etc. Hence to attend to them immediately and provide medicines promptly, the AMC has deployed its three teams for the past nine days.It is learnt that the AMC teams saved the lives of 10 persons by providing them prompt treatment. A few patients were also admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). It may be noted that the temple vicinity falls under the jurisdiction of the Cantonment Board, but it deprives of adequate health machinery. Hence the AMC extended support to the devotees.From the first day, there is a huge rush of devotees in the morning and the evening hours. There is only one main road leading to the temple for devotees. Hence due to the heavy rush in the evening, the kids, senior citizens and women suffer health problems. To attend to these devotees, the AMC set up camps at threedifferent places. Three teams have an independent expert doctor and each camp offers primary treatment to the patient on the spot.“The patients complaining of giddiness, vomiting, restlessness, sweating etc are shifted to GMCH immediately in the ambulance. A separate dedicated way has been built so that the ambulance could pass through the rush safely. The route connects to the main road at a point opposite to RTO office. We had provided timely primary treatment and also shifted immediately and got admitted to big hospitals. Hence their lives got saved, said the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Paras Mandlecha adding that he himself cross-checked the functioning of camps by spending three hours on Sunday.
