Aurangabad, April 5:

The health teams of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today has detected 79 persons as Covid-19 positives during the special testing drives conducted at separate places in the city.

62 Covid-19 patients detected at six PoEs

The AMC has tested visitors entering the city limits through six points of the entrance (PoE) today. The health teams tested 313 persons and found 10 infected patients at Chikalthana PoE; tested 238 and detected 23 at Harsul T Point PoE, tested 199 and found 14 Covid-19 positives at Kanchanwadi PoE, tested 838 and detected 11 at Octroi Naka PoE, tested 709 and detected one at Daulatabad T-Point PoE, and three were detected by testing 225 at Jhalta Phata PoE.

12 Coronavirus infected at government offices

The testing of visitors was also held at three out of five government offices. The team has detected seven Covid-19 positives by conducting antigen tests of 28 visitors at AMC headquarter, two by testing 30 visitors at the police commissionerate office and three by testing 59 visitors at the High Court. The testing was done under the guidance of the AMC commissioner A K Pandey and MoH Dr Neeta Padalkar.

Five passengers detected as Covid-19 patients

Five train passengers, who had arrived in the city on Sunday, have been reported as Covid-19 positive today. As reported earlier, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) health teams had conducted RT-PCR tests on 107 passengers arriving at the railway station by trains and 78 passengers arriving at Chikalthana airport by planes on April 4. The AMC received the RT-PCR reports of these passengers today, and it stated that five train passengers are found Coronavirus infected. Meanwhile, the AMC health teams have conducted RT-PCR tests of 110 train passengers arriving in the city and 29 tests on air passengers at the airport today (April 5). The administration will receive their reports by tomorrow.
