Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Here is good news the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) has purchased seven mini road sweeping machines (each costing Rs 33.90 lakh) from a Ludhiana (Punjab)-based company through GeM portal by paying Rs 2.37 crore.

The guardian minister (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) Sanjay Shirsat today dedicated the mini road sweeping machines to the public, in the presence of the guardian minister (Nanded) Atul Save, the MLA (Central) Pradeep Jaiswal, MLC Vikram Kale and the municipal corporation administrator G Sreekanth.

According to the press release issued by the CSMC executive engineer (mechanical section), “Earlier, the CSMC had 06 truck-mounted sweeping machines and 03 mini road sweeping machines. These machines were utilised to clean roads of a distance of 200 km daily. There are 10 zones in the city. Now, with the addition of seven new machines, the CSMC will deploy one mini-machine in each zone. The machines can clean internal roads of distance of 100 km.”

The civic sources added, “ The cleaning of internal and main roads will help reduce the dust ratio in all parts of the city and help improve air quality index as well. The CSMC is effectively implementing the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) with the aid of the Central Government.”

Purchase of aerial platform truck

It may be noted that the CSMC is granting permission for the construction of buildings up to 22 storeys. Accordingly, the process to procure a 70-metre height hydraulic platform is underway. However, it would take another two years to get it.

Hence the mechanical section, through a tender process, has purchased a 29-metre height aerial platform truck by spending Rs 1.34 crore. The vehicle enables extinguishing the fire of buildings up to 10 storeys, stated the press release.
