Aurangabad, May 16:

The demotion of the 8 ad hoc professors of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Government Cancer Hospital to Associate Professors has been averted now. The decision has been taken back as it would number of students seats. This fact was brought by the Maharashtra State Medical Teachers Assocation to the administration and the decision was taken back. Hence, the ad hoc tenure of these professors has been extended and their demotion is averted.

The Association on Saturday felicitated Dean Dr Kanan and administrative officer Dilip Godhane for taking efforts for the extension of the ad hoc period of the professors. The president Dr Gajanan Surwade, Dr Bharat Sonawane, Dr Siraj Baig, Dr Varsha Deshmukh, Dr Aditi Lingayat, Dr Prabha Khaire, Dr Radheya Khetre, Dr Amol Suryawanshi, Dr Suresh Harbade, Dr Madhuri Kulkarni and others were present.
