Aurangabad, Dec 2:

We are all for granting reservation to the Maratha community. However, it should not affect the reservation quota of other backward classes (OBC). Meanwhile, the OBC and VJNT leaders will be holding a joint meeting in this regard on Saturday (December 5) and decide the next action plan in this regard, said the community leaders Balasaheb Sanap and Arun Rodge while addressing a press conference.

The government should not share our reservation with the Maratha community. Our take is that the government should grant the reservation to them from another quota. We rubbed shoulders with the Maratha community in their agitation. However, few people, in misunderstanding, are demanding reservation for Maratha from OBC quota. There are various castes and sub-castes in OBC reservation, said Sanap and Rodge.

If the issue gets intermingled, then it would confuse the youths appearing for various competitive examinations and their reservation. It is an attempt to develop hatred between OBCs and Maratha community. Hence to decide the next action plan and drew the attention of the government towards OBC and VJNT subjects, a joint meeting is organised on December 5. The leaders of various communities falling under the head of OBC and VJNT will attend the meeting. Sachin Doiphode and Yogesh Khade were also present at the press meet.
