Aurangabad, Nov 28:

"Auric is a very ambitious project and efforts will be made for a bigger project as soon as possible. Decision regarding increasing the connectivity to Aurangabad will be taken after study," assured union railway minister Piyush Goyal in a meeting with the members of Aurangabad First.

The meeting was organized through MP Bhagwat Karad to discuss issues regarding connectivity and investment in Aurangabad. Issues regarding bringing in investment to Aurangabad industrial city (Auric), pitline at Aurangabad, doubling and electrification of the Manmad to Parbhani railway line, two under bridge near the railway crossing, four flyovers, and changing the jurisdiction of Aurangabad from under the South Central Railway were discussed. Speaking to the railway minister, Aurangabad First president Pritish Chatterjee said, "The Panchavati Express and the Nanded to Bangalore Express should get a stop at Aurangabad, which will help increase the connectivity." Apart from this, Aurangabad First drew the attention of railway minister to the issues of infrastructure and the need for new large scale industries. Members of CMIA and Massia were also present for this meeting.

State government must contribute 50 per cent

Railway minister Goyal said, "Auric is a very ambitious project and efforts are underway for a bigger project at Aurangabad. The doubling of railway line and pit line depends upon the amount of freight. The central government is ready to build a railway under bridge and flyover near the railway crossing. However, the state government needs to provide 50 per cent funding for the construction of the flyover," he said.
