(MSEDCL) employees discontinued the electricity supply of a hospital at

Pundliknagar on Thursday without giving prior notice due to outstanding bills.

When the doctor was paying the bills online, the employees cut the power

supply. When he asked to regularize the power supply. He was asked to make an

application for reconnection at the office and pay the fees for it. The doctor

then called the engineers and the employees at the office on the phone for at

least 50 times. The officers then took notice of it and regularized the power

supply of the hospital.

Dr Santosh Rathod runs a hospital at Pundliknagar area.

During the lockdown period he had the outstanding electricity bills of Rs

28,000. As he was waiting for the announcement of the waiver in the electricity

bill, he did not paid the bill. Meanwhile, on Thursday, the MSEDCL employees

went to the hospital at around 11 am to cut the electricity supply. Dr Rathod

then paid Rs 28,000 online from his mobile phone. Still, the employees cut the

electricity supply and told him to pay the fees for reconnection at office. Dr

Rathod then started calling the officers and the engineers and he told them

that he will not stop calling them on phone until the electricity supply is

resumed. The officers then taking cognizance regularized the power supply at

the hospital at 3 pm.
