Aurangabad, April 11:

Despite two days of severe lockdown on weekend, many citizens were seen crowding the streets without wearing masks. The police took action against 263 people on Saturday and recovered a fine of Rs 1,31,500, while on Sunday, they also took action against almost the same number of citizens and recovered a fine of Rs 1.25 lakh.

The second wave of coronavirus has greatly affected the district. While more than a thousand patients are tested positive every day, the death toll has not gone down for the past many days. As a result, the administration has imposed a two-day lockdown on weekends, while other establishments have been shut down since last month, leaving essentials shops. If citizens go out for no reason in these two days, they will have to face police action. In the past two days, police took action against citizens roaming without any reason at Little Flower High School, Mauli Chowk in Nandanvan Colony, Millcorner, Kartiki Chowk, Nehru Chowk in the cantonment area and other roads in the city.

False reasons annoy police

Despite the heavy police presence, many citizens continue to violate rules and step outside without any reason. Many citizens give a false reason that annoys the police officials.

Action has been taken against 263 people who were wandering on the streets without any reason and not wearing mask on Saturday. The police have recovered Rs 1,31,500 from them. In all, 39 officers and 153 employees of 17 police stations were deployed for bandobast.
