Aurangabad, April 10:

An industrialist committed suicide by jumping in a farm lake due to the torture and financial cheating by the girlfriend. A case has been registered against her and her friend. Both of them have been remanded in the police custody on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Sharad Uttamrao Shelke (34, Vishnunagar). His body was found in the farm lake at Jalgaon Feran Shivar on April 9. The body was removed and was taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where the doctors declared him dead after examination. Sharad had written a 10 pages suicide note in which he had mentioned he is committing suicide due to the torture of his 21 years old unmarried girlfriend and her lover. She used to take money from him due to which he was debt ridden. Still, she used to black mail him. She also took money from his business due to which the future of both of his children was in dark. She should be punished for this and last rites should not be performed on him until a case is registered against her and her lover, he mentioned in the suicide note.

Sharad was a native of Feran Jalgaon and live with his parents at Vishnunagar in the city. He had a factory at Shendra MIDC. He is survived by parents, wife, son and a daughter.
