Aurangabad, June 11:

Expansion of industries and job creation has taken place in Marathwada on a large scale. Therefore, the objective of the subsidy has been achieved and it should not be stopped, the industrial associations demanded to the energy minister Nitin Raut on Friday.

Members of the Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) and Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture (MASSIA), met energy minister Raut to demand that the subsidy scheme be continued till the year 2023. In this meeting, the members explained to the energy minister through a presentation how the subsidy has benefited the growth of industries in Marathwada. Raut assured the industry that the subsidy will not be stopped. Raut said that the decision was taken to subsidize the electricity bills of the two backward regions of Marathwada and Vidarbha in order to boost the growth of the industry and increase the employment capacity. However, the subsidy was taken advantage of by a single industry. He lamented that it should have benefited the overall industries. If the subsidy is stopped, the steel industry here will mainly go to the nearby states of Telangana and Madhya Pradesh. due to low electricity rates. Entrepreneur Mukund Kulkarni, Massia president Narayan Pawar, CMIA vice president Shiv Prasad Jaju, secretary Satish Lonikar, Narendra Gupta and others demanded that the subsidy given to industries should be continued till 2023 as announced.
