Aurangabad, Oct 15:

Exemption from Gram Panchayat (GP) tax for companies already taking concessions will reduce revenue. Citing this reason, the Zilla Parishad (ZP) standing committee unanimously rejected the appeal of the Marathwada Auto Cluster requesting to give tax exemption levied by Ranjangaon Shenpunji GP.

A meeting of the standing committee was held at Yashwantrao Chavan Hall on Thursday afternoon under the chairmanship of Meena Shelke. AS chief executive officer Dr Mangesh Gondawale did not attend the meeting, the members became aggressive. The members also demanded adjournment of the meeting.

Member Kishor Pawar said that there is no space for the crematorium sanctioned by the guardian minister in Ranjangaon. Shed work has been approved there. We are considering moving the crematorium to another village.

He expressed displeasure over the pending question, saying that instead of resolving the issue, discussion must be held. Additional CEO Santosh Kavade, deputy CEO Shirish Bansode, along with members and officers were present for the meet.
