The members of the Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture (MASSIA) office bearers held discussions with the chief engineer of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) on issues related to power supply in industrial area on Tuesday.
The members demanded a separate sub-station for the companies in gut numbers in Waluj MIDC and power supply through MIDC feeders, no extra charges should be levied on monthly bills, providing adequate staff of MSEDCL in Waluj, a sub station in Shendra industrial area and regular maintenance of the power lines to provide uninterrupted power supply to industries. The members also demanded to increase the capacity of existing transformers and provision for new connections through the NEC scheme should be made convenient. MSEDCL chief engineer B Khandare said that the proposal for the power lines from Waluj to Karodi has been sent for approval for power supply to industries in gut numbers. Until then, the MSEDCL will try to reduce the number of power outages, he said, adding that electricity tariffs are a policy issue and need to be followed up, adding that there are enough employees in the Waluj industrial area. Similarly he also assured that more employees will be deployed in Shendra sub-station. He also assured that the number of transformers will be increased and the defunct mini-feeders in the Chikalthana MIDC will be replaced on priority. He also directed the officials to resolve all the minor issues on priority put forward by the industrialists. Superintending engineer B S Nirmal, Sanjay Akode, executive engineer Premsingh Rajput, Nidhi Gautam, Massia president Narayan Pawar, vice presidents Kiran Jagtap, Gajanan Deshmukh, Chetan Raut, Vikas Patil, Sudeep Adtiya, Abhishek Modani and others were present.
