Aurangabad, June 25:

A motorcyclist dashed a pedestrian and fled away from the scene at Azad Chowk on June 14 night. The Jinsi police succeeded in arrested the motorcyclist on Friday. The arrested has been identified as Shaikh Anas Shaikh Osman (20, Shahnoorwadi). The victim died in this accident. Jinsi police station PI Vyankatesh Kendre said that Tejas Mahadev Shirsath (40, Ektanagar, Jatwada Road) was dashed by a motorcycle at Azad Chowk on June 14 night. The motorcyclist, after the accident, fled away from the scene. Shirsath died while undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). A case was registered at the Jinsi police station. PSI Gokul Thakur investigated and checked the CCTV camera footage from Azad Chowk to Baliram Patil School Road. He found two suspected motorcycles, and accordingly, the owners were searched. One of them said that he sold his motorcycle to one of his relatives Anas Shaikh. The police then searched and arrested Anas.
