No one found guilty in Remdesivir theft case in GMCH

Aurangabad, April 16:

A committee appointed by the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for inquiry of the stolen Remdesivir injections have submitted a report to the administration. Surprisingly, nothing was found in the inquiry. The committee reported that the number of injections supplied from the drug store and the number of injections received by the wards was the same. However, nothing is mentioned in the report regarding the use of injection on patients.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the black marketing of Remdesivir injection. This includes an employee of the district civil hospital. Therefore, the stock of Remdesivir in the district hospital will also be verified. On April 14, AurangabadFirst had published the news of the missing Remdesivir injections from the GMCH. The GMCH administration then set up a committee to investigate. The committee set up on the same day inquired into the matter and submitted a report to the administration at 5 pm. The nurse in charge should keep a proper record of the injections brought from the drug store, the full responsibility will be on the sister in charge, the committee said in its report.

Looking into the matter

The committee has submitted its report. Nothing was found in the investigation. All injections are sent to the ward from the drug store are monitored. We are looking into the matter, said Dr Kanan Yelikar, dean GMCH.

A class-4 employee of the district hospital is found involved by the police. The injection found by the police is believed to be from the GMCH. The stock of injection at the district hospital will be assessed said, Dr Sundar Kulkarni, district surgeon.
