A speeding unidentified vehicle fatally struck a motorcycle on Sunday evening at Bazar Wadgaon, killing a 52-year-old man and leaving his nephew critically injured.

The deceased has been identified as Dilip Chandrahan Thorat (52, Tandulwadi), while Sridhar Thorat (37) sustained serious injuries. The duo was returning home when a vehicle rammed into them near a petrol pump on the Lasur-Gangapur road around 7 pm. Locals rushed them to the Gangapur sub-district hospital, where doctors declared Dilip Thorat dead. Sridhar Thorat received initial treatment before being shifted to Ghati Hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for advanced care. Dilip Thorat is survived by his wife, a son, and four daughters. Shillegaon police have registered the case and launched a search for the unidentified vehicle.
