Aurangabad, April 14:

Thousands of rupees worth of remdesivir injection were stolen from the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The administration has appointed a committee for inquiry. Meanwhile, the administration has decided to keep a one-day stock of these injections instead of three days and also collect empty vials of injections used by patients in the ward.

Relatives of the patients are running from pillar to post to get remdesivir injection. At the same time, thousands of rupees worth of remdesivir injections were stolen from the GMCH and efforts were being made to suppress the case. AurangabadFirst highlighted the issue in a news published on April 14. Taking it seriously, the GMCH administration set up an inquiry committee was set up on Wednesday. The committee began reviewing the injections supplied from the drug store and the injections used in the ward. It is understood that no serious matter has come to light from the preliminary investigation of the committee. However, a more in-depth investigation into the matter is underway to find out whether the injection was actually stolen from the GMCH. A complaint will be launched with the police if anyone is found guilty in the investigation.

More cautions in place

More precautions are being taken in the case of remdesivir injections. From now onwards, the ward will be supplied with a one day stock of remdesivir injections. Also, used vials will be collected from the ward. Injections will be given as per the demand. In addition, records of patients is also being kept said, dean Dr Kanan Yelikar.
