Aurangabad, Oct 26:

The state''s PWD minister Ashok Chavan has appealed to the farmers and workers to strongly oppose the anti-farmers and anti-workers bills passed by the union Government at each village and tehsil level.

Chavan was addressing the Shetkari-Kamgar Melava organised by the Aurangabad City District Congress Seva Dal in Chikalthana today. At the outset, Seva Dal''s state president Vilas Bapu Autade made an introductory speech.

Chavan pointed out that the development works had got halted. The use of power was supposed to be made for development. I will strive to give more weightage to the issues of Marathwada and complete al the pending works, he said.

Chavan mentioned, " Our party''s leader Rahul Gandhi strongly opposed to the bills passed by the union Government. The opposition is also in Punjab, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Hence, you all should also launch a signature drive and implement the drive successfully."

ZP president Meena Shelke, MPCC vice president Keshavrao Autade, Prakash Mugadiya, Seva Dal''s state secretary Anil Mankape, Suresh Pawar, city president Altaf Patel, Shriram Mahajan, Ravindra Salunke, president of City Congress Committee Hisham Osmani and others were present on the dais.
