Aurangabad, Nov 4:
The State Common Entrance Test Cell (SCETC) has made it clear that the physically challenged students will have to obtain Persons with Disability (PWD) certificate from designated centres only to claim five percent reservation in counselling of health science courses.
In a letter issued on Monday, the CET Cell stated that Directorate General of Health Services, New Delhi has designated 12 centres for identifying disabilities out of 21 bench mark disabilities and issuing PWD certificate as per Medical Council of India guidelines.
So, National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-UG 2020 qualified candidates who wish to claim PWD quota reservation will have to appear before the Medical Board at any of the designated disability centre and get themselves examined before the last date of registration process.
“It will be the responsibility of the candidate to produce PWD certificate from the mentioned board and upload the same within stipulated time. Certificate from any other hospital or civil surgeon will not be considered,” it was stated in the letter.
The 12 designated centres included All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation- Mumbai and AIIMS-Nagpur.
