Aurangabad, July 18:

A 26-year-old soldier committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree in the cantonment area. The incident came to light around 6 am on Sunday.

Malhar Vananna R (26, Konappa Gundapalli, Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu) is the name of the deceased soldier. According to information, Malhar had meal with colleagues on Saturday night. He then chatted with his friends and went to bed. As all fell asleep, Malhar hanged himself to a tree next to the barracks with a nylon rope. The incident came to light after a colleague woke up around 6 am. He immediately informed his superiors. Subhedar Popat Jadhav and other colleagues admitted Malhar to the Government Medical College and Hospital. But the doctors pronounced him dead. The reason behind the suicide is unknown. A case of accidental death was filed in the cantonment police station. Assistant sub inspector Bhagwan Wagh is investigating the case.
