Aurangabad, April 7:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has expressed its concern over the rising in deaths of Covid-19 patients, although the spreading of the Coronavirus has reduced to some extent in the city. Presently, the AMC through testing of around 5,000 citizens daily, there is the detection of around 800 patients daily.

There was the detection of around 1200 patients daily in the city during the last week of March. The ratio of patients' death had increased to ten-folds from March 6. There was reporting of 15 to 25 deaths in the private hospitals and Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The AMC administrator A K Pandey decided to trace and treat the patients by launching a testing drive on large scale. The mega testing drive launched during the last week. Earlier, the testing percentage was less but detection of patients was more than 1,000 daily. Now the testing has increased in large number, but the detection of patients is not more than 850. The figures depict that the spreading of the virus is under control.

The municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar said," There would be a rise in the spread of Coronavirus in April. The Coronavirus hunts for the human body for its survival and it dies if it does not find the target. Hence, each citizen should wear the mask without fail."

The detection of Covid-19 patients through testing in the last week is as follows: 853 were detected as Covid-19 positives through testing 2,834 citizens on March 29, 830 through testing 2,616 on March 30, 1,090 through testing 3,705 on March 31, 922 through testing 4,480 on April 1, 765 through testing 4,552 on April 2, 952 through testing 4,670 on April 3, 877 through testing 4,545 on April 4 and 892 through testing 3,783 on April 5.
