Aurangabad, Jan 17:

Students of classes 10th and 12th and their parents are worried over the completion of the syllabus in the current academic year.

It may be noted that all the educational institutions were shut down in March 2020 with the spread of Novel coronavirus.

With relaxations in the Unlock process, classes of 9th to 12th were reopened a few weeks ago. The students attended online classes during the lockdown period. The process of submission of examination application form is underway.

Students' attendance in the schools and junior colleges is between 70 per cent and 80 pc even today. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education reduced 25 per cent syllabus of 10th and 20 pc of HSC.

Students are confused over more questions incomplete syllabus.

The State Board has prepared questions based on 100 pc syllabus.

State Board officials said that the process of making question sets is at the final stage.

Headmasters feel that the education department should issue instructions for conducting classes like earlier.

Parents are worried about how their children will face practical, oral examination as there is no clarity. There is a need to give relaxations in increasing daily lectures compared to current limitation.

The headmasters said that there is a need to have explicit instructions for evaluation and nature of questions as it will help to prepare students for the examinations.

“Around 80 pc syllabus was completed online. Even in actual classes, the attendance is just 50 pc. We are laying stress on teaching the syllabus portion that was not taught in online mode,” they said.
