Waluj MIDC police have registered an offence against a waiter for stealing the bullet vehicle of a hotel-owner, five mobile handsets and cash Rs 10,000 (all valuing Rs 95,000) from Pandharpur on Thursday.

The complainant Sunil Ambadas Kadam (a resident of Bajajnagar) runs a hotel in Pandharpur. He had recruited Vaibhav Dilip Bagal (22, a resident of Dadar in Mumbai) as a waiter on October 1. Vaibhav used to stay in the hotel during the night. On Wednesday, the manager Eknath Pawar went home after closing the hotel at 10.30 pm, while all the waiters including Vaibhav were sleeping in the hotel. On Thursday, at 4.45 am, when a waiter Akshay Pragane woke up for a urinal, he found the kitchen''s door open. He was shocked when the hotel owner''s bullet vehicle was also missing. He then went into the room and found the mobile phones of four waiters were not there. One mobile phone and Rs 10,000 cash kept in the cash counter of the hotel were missing. Two ATM cards, PAN Card and Aadhar Card were also missing from the cash counter. Vaibhav was not seen anywhere.

Hence Kadam registered the complaint against the waiter.

Meanwhile, Kadam confirmed that Vaibhav is seen lifting valuables from the cash counter between 3 am and 4.15 am in the CCTV footage.
