Aurangabad, March 3:

The third wife of former corporator, who joined NCP from AIMIM, Shaikh Jafar Shaikh Attar alias Jafar Builder, committed suicide by consuming poison on Wednesday. The Jinsi police registered a case of accidental death. The police are investigating whether it is a suicide or murder.

The deceased has been identified as Farzana Shaikh. Police said, Jafar Builder and Chotu Qureshi admitted Farzana at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) at around 4.45 am on Wednesday in an unconscious condition where she died at 7.30 am. Jafar Builder while registering the name of the patient, mentioned as Syed Farzana Syed Ayub, which included her father’s name. Farzana was his third wife and she in 2017 lodged a complaint against him. The police then resolved the matter through mediation. There was a dispute between them again for the past few days. The sources said that Jafar and Farzana married six years back and they had a four years old daughter. However, Jafar had not given his name to the baby. The deceased had lodged a complaint over it with the police. On Wednesday, Farzana consumed poison in wee hours. Jafar and Chotu Qureshi took her to the hospital. Her post mortem was conducted at GMCH and the doctors had mentioned that she consumed poison, informed PI, Vyankatesh Kendre.
