Aurangabad, Jan 28:

A youth was injured after a bullet hit his thigh in Buddi Lane at midnight on Thursday. The man who opened the fire, vanished into thin air and injured has been admitted to a hospital. He has been identified as Abdul Jabbar Abdul Sattar (24).

According to the details, there is a large godown of scrap owned by one Rajaseth. It is situated on a narrow road near Chimnya Raja Haveli. Some scrap items were dumped in front of the godown and in addition some vehicles also were parked there which created obstacles for vehicles and pedestrians. A youth Abdul Razzaq objected to it and sought explanation from Rajaseth for obstructing his way at 11 pm. This led to a heated exchange of words between Abdul Razzaq and Rajaseth and continued for a long time. Akram Khan Sher Khan, driver of the scrap godown owner, came there and opened fire from a country made pistol which spread panic and sensation in the area. Rajaseth somehow pacified Akram and succeeded in sending him away from the spot. But to the shock of all, he returned after five minutes and opened fire twice and one bullet hit Abdul Razzaq’s brother Abdul Jabbar leaving him bleeding. He has been admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta and other senior police officers reached the spot just 10 minutes after the firing incident took place. The crime spot falls under the jurisdiction of the City Chowk police station and PI Sambhaji Pawar took control of the situation. CP Gupta directed PI Pawar to obtain and screen the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the spot. Identify the suspect and arrest him at the earliest. The work of registering case was in progress in the police station.
