Students from economically weaker sections who have secured 90% or more marks in the 10th examination of the Scheduled Castes will get a total grant of Rs. 2 lakhs in the two years of 11th and 12th to prepare for vocational higher education. An important decision has been announced by the state's social justice minister Dhananjay Munde in the name of Babasaheb Ambedkar through Barti. To avail the benefits of this scheme, the parents of the students need to have an annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh.

This amount will be beneficial for the preparation of vocational courses like MH-CET, JEE, NEET for the children of poor families belonging to Scheduled Castes. Dhananjay Munde had instructed to implement this scheme in view of the demands made by the students and parents' associations. The decision was taken during BARTI's 30th Board of Governors meeting on June 21.

In order to avail the benefit of this scheme launched in the name of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the total annual income of the parents of the students will have to be within 2.5 lakhs. Also, the scheme will not be applicable to the children of parents who are employed in the government service. Proof of income and caste will be mandatory. The special thing about the scheme is that the number of beneficiaries is going to be unlimited! This information has been given by Dhammajyoti Gajbhiye, Director General of BARTI.

The scheme will be highly beneficial for students from poor families working in the unorganized sector, low paid or on contract basis or in the private sector. The Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI) will be responsible for the transparent implementation of the scheme. Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde said, "We will do our best to ensure that the benefits of this scheme reach the deserving students from the poorest families to shape their future.
