75 more policemen have tested positive for COVID-19 in Maharashtra, taking the total number of personnel affected by coronavirus in the state to 1,964 on Wednesday.

According to the police, the total number of cases includes 223 police officers and 1,741 other ranks.

"In the last 24 hours, 75 police personnel have tested positive for COVID-19 have been reported. Total number of positive cases in Maharashtra Police rise to 1964 with death toll at 20. Total 849 personnel have recovered and 1095 cases are active," the police said.

Out of the total, 20 have died due to the infection and 849 have recovered so far, it said.
