Maharashtra's Amravati MP Navneet Kaur Rana's who had tested coronavirus positive last week has been rushed to Mumbai as her health condition has worsened, said her husband Ravi Rana on Thursday.

She was initially being treated at Amravati but after she developed serious breathing problems she was shifted to a private hospital in Nagpur, said her husband Rana – who is also being treated for Covid-19.

As her health condition has worsened on Thursday the couple decided to come to Mumbai for better treatment and got her admitted at Lilavati Hospital on Thursday evening.

Last week the couple announced that 11 members of her family have contracted the disease. This includes both Navneet Rana's children and her in-laws.

“Both my daughter and son, and other family (members) have become corona infected, it was my first duty to take care of them as a mother. I am also infected with corona while taking care of children and other family members,” she said in a tweet.

Navneet Kaur Rana's father-in-law Gangadhar Rana's corona report came positive on August 2. The coronavirus test was then performed on about 50 to 60 people, including the Rana couple, their children and other family members, activists.

All the family members are currently under isolation and treatment, a medical official said.
