Mumbai, Maharashtra (April 2, 2025): A shocking incident has come to light at Karjat railway station in Raigad district where a piece of soap was found inside a vada pav, a popular street food. The incident occurred late Tuesday night when a female passenger purchased the snack from a food stall at Platform No. 2.

After taking a bite, she noticed something unusual and discovered the soap inside. She immediately reported the issue to the station master and filed a formal complaint. Following the complaint, officials suspended the stall’s operations. "The services at the stall have been halted, and its operations will remain suspended until further notice," the official said, as reported by Midday.

Past Food Contamination Cases Raise Concerns

This is not the first instance of food contamination reported recently. A few days ago, maggots were found in meals served at a Shiv Bhojan center near the government hospital in Khamgaon, Buldhana district. A video of the contaminated food went viral on social media, leading to public outrage over food quality. Citizens have demanded strict action from the state’s Food and Drug Administration.
