Worsening Covid-19 situation and a growing demand for oxygen cylinders has led to the black marketing of this basic life-saving equipment across India. Mumbai Police on Friday busted black marketing rackets of oxygen cylinders and arrested one peron for illegal possession and selling without valid licenses.

Cops arrested one person for selling oxygen cylinders on the black market. Police arrested the accused from Mumbai's Jogeshwari area and seized a large quantity of oxygen cylinders from him. The police had received information regarding black marketing of oxygen cylinders. Based on the information, the police raided the spot.

"Black marketing of oxygen-used oxygen cylinders was reported in Jogeshwari West in Mumbai. The police recovered 25 oxygen cylinders, 12 oxygen kits and other supplies in the raid. The accused has been arrested. Investigation is on," said Akbar Pathan, Mumbai Crime Branch DCP.

A 28-year-old has been arrested from Jogeshwari West, by Crime Branch unit 9. Police said search is underway to nab another accused. A Case has been registered at Oshiwara Police Station.
