After the attack on BJP president Nadda's convoy on Thursday, the party has targeted the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal. Nadda's convoy was allegedly attacked and several BJP leaders including Kailash Vijayvargiya were injured when protesters pelted stones at their vehicles at Diamond Harbour.

Against this backdrop, BJP leader Ram Kadam met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and demanded the imposition of presidential rule in West Bengal. Along with Ram Kadam, some residents of Mumbai from West Bengal accompanied him for the meeting.

The BJP leader also tweeted about his meeting with the Governor and wrote,"We went to Raj Bhavan to meet Governor Bhagat Sing Koshiyariji with a black flag along with the Bengali citizens of India. To protect democracy in Bengal, all Bengali citizens have demanded president's rule be imposed in West Bengal."

On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had condemned the alleged attack on Nadda's convoy while it was on its way to the Diamond Harbour area in West Bengal from Kolkata. He said the Central government is taking this attack "very seriously".
