After arriving in Kerala on 3rd June, monsoon has entered parts of Maharashtra on Saturday. 

The normal date of monsoon’s entry in the state is around June 7. It entered parts of South Maharashtra, including South Konkan, Solapur a few days earlier. India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said that the monsoon has arrived from Harne in South Konkan to Solapur.

After arriving in Kerala on June 3, the monsoon had made its way to Karwar in Karnataka by Friday. Today, it has made further progress, reaching Harne in Konkan, including Goa, as well as Solapur in south central Maharashtra and parts of neighboring Marathwada.

The normal date of monsoon’s entry in South Konkan is June 7 and Kolhapur till June 9. This year, however, the Monsoon Express has arrived early.It has entered Maharashtra ahead of it's schedule. This is the first time in the last few years that the monsoon has arrived so early.
