The monsoon session of the Parliament kicked off on Monday with Lok Sabha assembling first.

On first day of the session, NCP MP Supriya Sule stressed on the need to debate on state of the economy, pandemic & challenges of unemployment.

She said,"I think the biggest challenge right now in the country is the State of the economy & unemployment. I think on the first first day, what we should have debated today in Parliament is the state of the economy, pandemic & challenges of unemployment"

Sule further said,"This is a global scenario & we're not the only country going through it. But it should be priority of govt. I don't see this govt at the Centre talking extensively either about the economy or unemployment challenges. We should put it on priority."

Supriya Sule shared a video of today's proceedings in the Lok Sabha on Twitter. She wrote, "Spoke about the state of the Indian Economy and the challenge of Unemployment arising due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Urged the Central Government to address the issue of Unemployment and provide assistance to the State Governments in their efforts during the Zero Hour today."

This is the first Parliament session which is being held amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
