A 42-year-old woman was dead on 29 May in Thane. The area in question is under the jurisdiction of the Rabodi police.

On Sunday the police said they had solved the case by arresting her 24-year-old stepson for murder.

Senior Inspector Rajendra Shirtode of Rabodi police station identified the 42-year-old woman as Reshma Ansari and the accused as tailor Shahnavaz Ansari.

"Shahnavaz is Reshma''s stepson. The murder is the fall out of some old dispute. She was missing since May 28 night. We checked CCTV footage of the area and made the arrest," he added.
