A three-year-old boy tragically lost his life after falling into a pit outside his house in the Samta Nagar area of Karanja in Washim district of Maharshtra on Tuesday, February 19. The incident occurred at around 4 PM when the child was playing outside his house. The deceased child has been identified as Mohammad Arzan.

According to reports, the child had been missing since 4 PM, prompting a frantic search by his family. His pictures were shared on social media, and a local resident informed the family that he had seen the child playing near the pit. Upon inspection, water was drained from the pit using a JCB, revealing the child's body was found around 7 PM. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Locals revealed that Samta Nagar lacks a proper drainage system, forcing residents to dig pits to dispose of wastewater. The grieving family has accused the city administration of negligence and demanded immediate action to prevent further tragedies.

An atmosphere of anger prevails in the community, with residents urging authorities to address the drainage issue. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
