A 'shramik special train' carrying around 1200 people, mainly migrant workers, left from Kalyan yesterday for Darbhanga in Bihar. 

As per the guidelines, sending states will pay the consolidated fare to the railways, which they (sending states) can collect from the labourers or from the receiving states. The railways prints tickets to the specified destinations as per the number of passengers, indicated by the originating state.

The city authorities will handover tickets to passengers and hand over the total fare to the railways. Besides sanitisation, the railways will provide meal and packaged water to the migrant workers on trains.

These special trains are being run to transport migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded at different places in the country due to lockdown.
