To promote fitness and sports among Mumbaikars during the summer vacation, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a special 21-day swimming training program at two major Olympic-size pools in the city—Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Olympic Swimming Pool in Dadar (West) and General Arun Kumar Vaidya Olympic Swimming Pool in Chembur (East).

The first training session will commence on May 2, 2025, followed by a second session starting May 23, 2025. Registration for both batches will be done entirely online, with the portal going live on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 11 AM via https://swimmingpool.mcgm.gov.in.

The civic body’s initiative aims to provide Mumbaikars of all age groups with a safe and structured opportunity to learn swimming—a vital life skill and an excellent form of exercise.

Daily Training Sessions:Each day will include three training slots at both pools:

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Nominal Training Fees:

Rs 2,210 for children up to 15 years, senior citizens above 60, and persons with disabilities

Rs 3,310 for individuals aged between 16 and 60 years

The BMC has urged citizens to take advantage of this opportunity to learn swimming in a professional environment. This initiative not only supports public health and wellness but also encourages greater participation in aquatic sports in the city.
