Panvel: With temperatures expected to rise in the coming days, Commissioner Mangesh Chitale has urged residents to take the necessary precautions against heatstroke. The Regional Meteorological Center, Colaba, Mumbai, has forecasted a significant temperature increase in the Raigad district during the week.

In response, the municipal corporation has issued guidelines for public safety. Citizens are advised to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities between 12 PM and 3 PM, and use protective measures such as umbrellas and light cotton clothing. Homes and workplaces should be kept cool using curtains, ventilation, and adequate water supply.

Those working outdoors should take frequent breaks, cover their heads, and consume electrolyte-rich fluids. The guidelines also emphasize special care for pregnant women, elderly individuals, and sick workers.

Additionally, the public is advised to avoid excessive physical exertion, refrain from consuming alcohol and caffeine, and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles. Authorities stress the importance of staying informed through weather updates from reliable sources.

The municipal corporation urges residents to follow these precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses and ensure their well-being during the rising temperatures.
