The Omicron variant is a new danger now, the variant has high mutation power which can spread rapidly amongst the people. Therefore, on the same note government is urging people to take a booster doses of vaccine to prevent Omicron.

Whereas, the people are raising many questions against booster dose, is it safe to take? The dose is really a need? or what are the side effects of this dose? Well now all the answers will be clear because Member of the Policy Commission Dr. V. K. has explained the importance of booster dose.

Dr. said so so far in some parts of the country, S-gene drop patients have shown early signs of being infected with the omicron virus. The S gene is concerned with signaling the surface of a protein. This is where the infection enters.

‘Omicron patients found are not more serious; But, we are collecting information. We are only confirming the omicron by genetic sequencing' said Dr.

Dr. also stated that 'Need a booster dose? The effects of the new virus are being studied. The role of scientists is being examined. Discussions have also taken place at the scientific and technical levels. All aspects are being considered.

The decision regarding booster dose will be based on scientific facts and recommendations. The World Health Organization (WHO) has for the first time given priority to completing the primary immunization program.

A study is being conducted on the information obtained from Omicron in various ways. This is also being considered at the NTAGI meeting. There is no recommendation yet for the vaccination of children.

NTAGI is considering other aspects of the vaccine. Wearing masks and using sanitizer is also an essential aspect of the prevention of Omicron.

Fear of a third wave has been growing since the arrival of the Omicron. The Omicron virus is considered highly contagious and is currently endemic in 59 countries.

The World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Southeast Asia, Dr. Poonam Khetrapal said that the new variant does not mean that the situation will get worse, but it will definitely make it more uncertain.

"The threat of an epidemic is still there," Dr. Khetrapal said. With the advent of new variants and the growing number of patients in other parts of the world, the threat of Covid-19 continues globally.

n India so far 33 cases of omicron have been reported and 5 states have been affected.

According to Dr. Khetrapal, some of the features, including the widespread use of omicron in the world and large-scale mutations, could have a significant impact on the epidemic system.

The government has urged people to use masks and to take vaccinations. Countries around the world are bringing in new restrictions to prevent omicron.
