In Bihar politics, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is disillusioned with the Grand Alliance and may once again be a part of the BJP-led NDA. There is a strong discussion in political circles that Nitish Kumar will resign as Chief Minister on January 28 and take oath again with the support of BJP. The formula for government formation has also been decided for that.

According to sources, Nitish Kumar will become the Chief Minister and two Deputy Chief Ministers from BJP's quota. This is not the first time that Nitish Kumar has changed political roles, but he has changed roles many times in his five-decade long political career. In simple terms, he has often changed his party position in politics.

Nitish Kumar has been pivotal in Bihar politics and politics has been centered around him for 20 years. Nitish is all set to change roles for the fifth time in ten years. Nitish entered politics through the student movement of 1974 and became an MLA for the first time in 1985. After this, Nitish Kumar did not look back and continued in politics. Lalu Prasad Yadav became the Chief Minister of Bihar in 1990, but in 1994 Nitish opened an alliance against him. Nitish and Lalu were together in the Janata Dal, but political ambitions separated their relations.

In 1994, Nitish left the Janata Dal and formed the Samata Party with George Fernandes. After this, in 1995, he contested the election in alliance with the Left parties, but the result did not go in his favor. Nitish broke his alliance with the Left and became part of the BJP-led NDA in 1996.

After this, Nitish Kumar continued to contest elections with BJP in Bihar till 2013 and continued to form the government in Bihar. BJP and Nitish lived together in Bihar for 17 years. Nitish Kumar's first disillusionment with the BJP came when the BJP announced Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Nitish severed ties with the BJP in opposition to Narendra Modi and contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections alone. JDU did not get much success in 2014 elections. After that Nitish Kumar joined hands with RJD and Congress. In the 2015 assembly elections, Nitish Kumar's JDU contested with the RJD and the Congress and defeated the BJP in Bihar.

Nitish Kumar formed the government with RJD and Congress. Nitish became Chief Minister and Tejashwi Yadav became Deputy Chief Minister. Nitish broke ties with the Grand Alliance in 2017 after running the government with the RJD for two years in Bihar. After that he formed the government with BJP. Nitish became Chief Minister and BJP leader Sushil Modi became Deputy Chief Minister.

Nitish Kumar and BJP ran the government from 2017 to 2022. At this time, Nitish also contested the 2020 Bihar assembly election with BJP, but in the result of the election, BJP gained and JDU lost. JDU became the third party. JDU won 43 and BJP won 74 seats. But despite this, the BJP handed over the chief ministership to Nitish Kumar and made two of its own deputy chief ministers.

Nitish Kumar became Chief Minister in 2020 but he could not bear the pressure of BJP. After running the government in Bihar for two years, Nitish Kumar again switched roles in 2022 and formed a government with RJD-Congress. Nitish Kumar became Chief Minister and Tejashwi Yadav became Deputy Chief Minister. After one and a half years, Nitish Kumar has again changed his mind and now he is again trying to form the government with BJP.

According to sources, Nitish Kumar will resign as Chief Minister on January 28 and form the government again with the support of BJP. After that, it is believed that two Deputy Chief Ministers will be sworn in as Chief Ministers from BJP's quota. Sushil Modi can enter Bihar politics again. Will this change in the politics of Bihar before the Lok Sabha elections also affect the politics of the country? This will be seen in the future.
