A tragic incident occurred in Pune early on October 11, 2024, when a motorcycle rider, Ruouf Akbar Sheikh, was killed in a hit-and-run collision involving an Audi near the Google building in Koregaon Park. The accident took place around 1:30 AM, and it involved multiple vehicles. According to reports, the driver of an Audi struck Sheikh's motorcycle after hitting three individuals riding an Activa scooter on the road leading from ABC Road to Tadi Guta Chowk. Following the initial collision, Sheikh was knocked down and subsequently hit by another vehicle from behind, leading to severe injuries.

Despite being rushed to Noble Hospital, Sheikh succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Audi fled the scene, but CCTV footage captured the incident, enabling authorities to obtain the vehicle's registration number. This led to the identification of the driver as Ayush Pradeep Tyal, a 34-year-old resident of Hadapsar. He was later apprehended at his residence, and the vehicle involved in the accident has been seized.

An FIR has been registered against Tyal under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including those related to causing death by negligence and hit-and-run offenses. Legal proceedings are currently ongoing as the investigation continues. This incident raises concerns about road safety, especially in light of previous accidents involving high-profile vehicles in the area.
