To ensure a smooth flow of traffic across South Mumbai during the Shab-e-Shahadat Muharram procession from 4 pm on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. The Mumbai traffic authorities have issued a circular informing Mumbaikars about the closure of roads and suggesting alternative routes.Officials said the procession will start at P Ismail Merchant Chowk (Nesbit Junction), proceed to Sofia Zuber Junction, Sir J. J. Junction, Mohammed Ali Road, Pakmodia Street, and end at Jainbia Hall. Road, 90 ft. Road, Mahim-Sion Link Road, and Sant Rohidas Road.Alternative Routes: To manage traffic, K.K. Krishnan Menan Marg (90 ft. Road) will be closed for vehicular traffic from Ashok Mill Naka to Kumbharwada Junction, with traffic diverted via St. Rohidas Marg, Pailwan Naresh Mane Junction, Sion Railway Station, Sion Road No. 3, Ved Phatak Goyal Junction (Sion Junction), Dr. B. A. Road Sion Circle, Sion Hospital Junction, Sulochana Shetti Road, and then proceed through Kumbharwada Junction.Similarly, Sion-Mahim Link Road will be closed from S.L. Raheja Junction to T-Junction, with traffic diverted via Senapati Bapat Marg, Mahim Phatak, Mori Road, Mahim Junction, Gen. Arun Kumar Vaidya Marg, and Mahim Causeway to Kalanagar. Traffic from S.L. Raheja Hospital to Sion Hospital will also be diverted via the same route, while those traveling from Sion Hospital to Bandra will take an alternate route through T.H. Kataria Marg and L.J. Road.St. Kabir Marg (60 ft. Road) will be closed from Kemkar Junction to Kumbharwada Junction, with traffic diverted via Senapati Bapat Marg, Mahim Phatak, Mori Road, Mahim Junction, L.J. Road, Shobha Hotel, and T.H. Kataria Marg to Kumbharwada Junction, and then proceed via Sulochana Shetti Road to their destination. Please plan your travel accordingly and use the alternate routes provided.
