Aurangabad, July 14:To boost its revenue collection in the form of property tax and water tax and provide convenience for the citizens in paying their taxes, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has started one tax collection centre (TAC) in the jurisdiction of each zone office. So far, the taxes were collected by civic personnel in the zonal office only. Now, citizens could pay the tax conveniently either in the zonal office or at the new TAC.The AMC's assessor and collector of tax, Aparna Thete said, " It may be noted that each zone office comprises of more than 10 election wards. Hence the office was receiving plaints from the citizens that they had to go to the zone office and pay their property as well as water tax. However, in the wake of Coronavirus, to avoid rush of people and provide convenience to the citizens, the AMC administrator A K Pandey has ordered to start additional five TACs in each zone office. Hence, as an initiative, we are starting one TAC in the jurisdiction of each zone. The other TACs will be started after reviewing the response from the citizens. The AMC has deployed its staff at the TACs and it will remain open from 9 am to 5 pm daily."BoxxxxxxxxxThe details of zone number wise name of TAC are as follows : Zone I - AMC School, Nandanvan Colony; Zone II - old Zone Office, Bhavaninagar; Zone III - AMC School, Ganesh Colony; Zone IV - AMC School, Chetnanagar; Zone V - behind Mapari Hospital, Ayodhyanagar N-7; Zone VI- AMC School, Chikalthana; Zone VII - Fire Station, Seven Hills; Zone VIII- AMC School, Kanchanwadi, and Zone IX - AMC School, Bansilalnagar.
