The Chikalthana police busted a gang, which used to rob the truck drivers and cleaners from the other states station in the outskirts of the city. The police after a chase arrested three members of the gang near Sai Krupa Hotel on Jalna Road on wee hours of Saturday.
According to the police, the Chikalthana police patrolling team received an information that three persons came in the rickshaw near Hotel Sai Krupa on Jalna Road and are robbing a truck driver and the cleaner. The team rushed to the spot while the thieves on sight of the police started fleeing from the scene in the rickshaw. However, the police team nabbed all the three thieves after a chase. The arrested have been identified as Shaikh Gaffar Shaikh Sattar (31, Rehmaniya Colony), Tausif Shaikh Rafiq (31) and Nasir Younus Pathan (30, Naregaon). The police seized stolen mobile phone of the truck driver worth Rs 10,000, Rs 9,300 cash, a knife, iron rod and the rickshaw (MH 20 EF 1095) from them. All the three were produced before the court and were remanded in the police custody.
