Aurangabad, May 8:

The Corona pandemic is increasing rapidly in the rural areas. Out of the 1368 villages in the district, 1153 villages have been infected by Corona virus. Presently, there are active patients in 695 villages. Hence, the Village Vigilance Committee has the important role to play in gaining control over the Corona situation while the gramseveks, head masters, talathi, teachers and other employees have been ordered to remain present on the duty. When the officers visited and inspected the villages, it was found that gramsevaks were not present at five villages.

The patients figures in Gangapur, Paithan, Kannad, Vaijapur and Aurangabad tehsils are still in three digits. MLA Prashant Bamb has written to the ZP CEO that the officers and employees should remain present on the duties. The administration has also directed the officers and employees in this regard but the orders are not followed, it seems.

Deputy CEO Dr Sunil Bhokare gave a surprise visits to various villages and found that the gramsevaks were not present in Shivrai, Chapaner, Sirasgaon, Banshendra and Khullad. The granssevaks of the Sirasgaon and Banshendra are quarantine due to which they were not present. However, show-cause notices have been issued to the remaining three gramsevaks, the sources said.
