Aurangabad, July 21:

It has been raining moderately in the district for the last few days. There has also been torrential rain in some places. However, the district has not yet received good rainfall. Meanwhile, the Chikalthana observatory has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in the district from Thursday. The officials have also forecast light to moderate rains in Marathwada from July 22 to 28.

After a good start, the Marathwada region received light rains during the kharif season. Due to lack of rains, Kharif crops on several hectares were lost. However, since the first week of July, there have been satisfactory rains in some parts of the district. But some districts are still experiencing dry weather. Since last week, tehsils including Sillod, Gangapur, Vaijapur, Paithan and Waluj got heavy rains that damaged crops. According to IMD officials, torrential rains have not yet occurred in the district. Meanwhile, from July 22, rainfall is expected throughout the week. Apart from Aurangabad, other districts in Marathwada are also expected to receive rains during this period. Meanwhile, torrential rains are expected in Jalna, Nanded, Latur, Parbhani and Beed on Thursday. Heavy rains are also expected in some parts of Osmanabad districts on July 23. Moderate rainfall is also expected in all areas from July 25 to 27.
