Aurangabad, June 5:

Police detained youths from different places of Paithan tehsil on Saturday when they were going to participate in Maratha reservation agitation being held in Beed.

Many youths from Maratha community, under the leadership of Ramesh Kere, the coordinator of ‘Thok Morcha’ had started leaving for Beed to participate in the agitation. Police were keeping an eye on them since Friday evening.

Police detained youths by police from Paithan industrial estate, Bidkin and Pachod Police Station and kept them in detention for the whole day.

Paithan MIDV Police detained the coordinator of Maratha Kranti Morcha and State unit president of Swabhimani Chhava Maratha Sanghatna Kiran Kale at Dhakephal in the morning.

District president of Sanghatna Manou Murdare, Appasaheb Jadhav, Dhanjay Chirekar, Ganesh Kalaskar, Abhijit Lonkar, Vijay Bhimrao Shelke were also detained.

Pachod Police detained the youth wing city unit president of Shivsangram Balasaheb Bhagnure, Ram Bhagnure, Bhagwat Bhumre, Nagesh Dandait, Varad Jogas, Sanjay Sawant, Suraj Chakranarayan, Ravi Rathod, Vishal Hiwale today.
